Permission to get excited
The Northern Ireland Paragliding Club (NIPC) is a welcoming and active community dedicated to the sport of paragliding across Northern Ireland. Whether you're newly qualified, building confidence after your Club Pilot (CP), or an experienced pilot looking for local flying opportunities, NIPC offers a supportive environment to help you grow your skills and enjoy the sport safely.
As a BHPA-affiliated club, NIPC plays a key role in maintaining access to some of Northern Ireland’s most scenic and rewarding flying sites—ranging from coastal cliffs to inland hills. We work closely with landowners and local authorities to ensure continued access and responsible flying.
The club organizes regular meet-ups, coaching days, and safety briefings, and we’re always happy to welcome new members. For those just starting out or moving to the area, NIPC provides invaluable local knowledge and a strong network of fellow pilots.
Joining the NIPC not only helps you connect with the local flying scene—it connects you with a passionate community that shares your love of flight and exploration.
We are one of two paragliding clubs in Northern Ireland registered with the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. We have a mixture of inland and coastal sites which cater for every wind direction and are no more than 90 minutes’ drive from most areas of the province.
We are a well-established free flight club, originally founded as the Ulster Hang Gliding Club in 1975, and we welcome paramotorists and powered hang glider pilots, whose flying activities closely align with non-powered equivalents.
